Rehabilitation of Woolen sector

A new scheme "Rehabilitation of Woolen sector" was introduced in 2013-14 budget in order to improve the living conditions of woolen weavers. Budget of Rs.27.00 crores for a period of 3 years was announced for this scheme under Special Package.

Following components were implemented under the scheme Wool Shearing Machine Wool shearing table and other equipments Improved carding machine Medleri charaka Construction of Gowdown Establishment of Skill Development centre Construction of common facility centre Transport Vehicle Establishment of woolen marketing complex at challakere

Rs.2297.42 lakhs was released to woolen handloom societies / federation during the year 2013-14, 2014-15 & 2015-16. Rs.703.50 lakhs was released for establishment of woolen mill at Kamdod. Rs.509.13 lakhs was released to woolen handloom societies / federation during the year 2017-18
